BE A SPECIALIST IN WHAT YOU DO

All of us are at one time or another striving for perfection. We have a desire to be the best at what we do. Sometimes we try and come near the set mark. Sometimes we fall way behind it and we stop and let things continue as they used to. We excuse our failure by saying; maybe I am not meant to perform at this level. The bar is set too high, and we quit and never try again.
On the other hand, others keep pushing harder and harder. Sometimes they touch the mark, sometimes not. But they keep on keeping on. One or two times in a while they make it and they celebrate with a medal or certificate. Wow!
My friend; performing at your best is what God created you for. He wouldn’t have bothered creating you if He was not expecting you to be a specialist in what you do. He created you perfect and He created you for an excellent performance. You have been created far better than animals and you can perform better than animals too. Every day He proverbially “wakes” up with such expectation hoping to see you at the best He intended for you.
Here is what you can do to raise your performance level. “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”Colossians 3:23.
  • At work – work like Jesus is your Boss (work to please Him)
  • In your relationship – love like you are doing it for Jesus (love to please Him)
  • In your kitchen – cook like Jesus is your Guest (cook for Him)
  • In your garden – work like it’s Jesus’ garden (work to impress Him)
  • In business – run it like Jesus is the Auditor (don’t cheat, He’s watching)
  • In driving – drive like Jesus is your passenger (obey the rules)
  • In your studies – study like Jesus’ future hangs on that certificate
  • In worship – go to church like Jesus is waiting for you there (go and meet Him)
We can go on and on and on. To perfect your performance do whatever you do as to the Lord. He will reward you; firstly with the ability to reach the level you have always been yearning for; secondly He will give you courage needed to keep on, and lastly; He will give you the joy of achievement. God be with you as you become a specialist in what you do.
