I'LL TAKE UP THE WINGS AND FLY
“As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings. So the Lord alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him.” Deuteronomy 32:11
We have come to the end of our flight lessons. I think you can see clearly now that our flight lesson is the journey of our Christian life. We cannot make it on our own. The Lord alone will lead us. As man was created by God and only God knows His future; so is a Christian. As Christians we were saved by God. He is the only one who knows our future. There is no one else. All others may speculate, but God knows our future as much as He knows our past and present “And there will be no foreign god with us”
When we seek direction we will turn to no other god. When we need to learn how to run this race we will look to no other speculator. We will fix our eyes upon Jesus who is the Author and the finisher of our faith. Our lives start with Jesus, find purpose in Jesus and will end up in Him.
In today’s lesson we will focus on the confession of the Word of God. Words spoken across human lips release a spiritual force. Man was created in God’s image. God created the universe by His word. “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” Hebrews 11:3. Words are not visible but they make things that are visible. Since man is created in the image of God, man too creates his “world” with words. The problem is that man has not developed this faculty to its fullest capacity and thus the reality of this truth is not realised as it should. Throughout ages man has been trying to create his world with muscles. He has been working hard to make things happen. Shall we stop working and just speak words? No; we speak and work thereafter. We don’t work and speak. This is not how spiritual things work. The right way is we speak and then work. This is how spiritual laws operates. It will help you to understand that spiritual laws precede human effort. When we work this upside down – when we work this in reverse; failure is unavoidable.
Here is one important point to note; what should we speak? Do we know what to speak? We speak words that work for us; words that work on our behalf. You see, when we don’t know words that work for us, we use words that work against us. There are words that work for you and there are words that work against you. God only used words that worked for Him and He had everything He said. He wants us to follow the same pattern.
All of us have been created by God. He created words too. What are we saying? We are saying God created man and God created words too. Since this is an indisputable truth, it would only make sense to believe that He who created man and words should have a plan for man and words to function together. All words bring results; others good, others bad. When you don’t know the difference between these categories, you pick any word that comes to your mind and you speak. You wonder why you end up with results that do not match your desires.
As we said; God created man and also created words. He has selected words that work for us and packed them in a book for our convenience. This book is called the Bible. When we speak what God says in His book about us or circumstances that affects us or our loved ones, a spiritual force is released on our behalf. This is called confession.
Confession is repeating what God said about you. When you say this believing in your heart that what you say is able to bring results; a creative force gushes out of your mouth. Confession is declaration. You declare that what God said about you will indeed come to pass.
When you fill like God has left you, people are threatening you and you are fearful and under stress; you turn to the Bible and read where God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you… The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:6. You go a step further and personalise what we’ve just read and say;
My God will never leave me nor forsake me.
I can boldly say the Lord is my helper;
I will not fear anything or anyone.
What can man do to me?
What have you just done? You have just confessed what God said about you. You have affirmed what God said about you. You have declared that God will never leave you nor forsake you. You have proclaimed that the Lord is your helper. You have made known to all (including the devil) that you will not fear anything. You’ve just boldly confessed that no man can do you anything. Praise the Lord.
When you said this, an amount of confidence oozed from the centre of your being. What was that? The words that you pronounced across your lips released power to create a state of assurance in your life. This power makes you trust God even more. Yes, you feel you are ready to meet whatever circumstance that comes your way. How did it happen? One, there is power in the Word of God; two, your tongue releases it.
Keep on speaking the word of God relevant to your circumstance and you will keep on releasing the power that God has packed in every word He has spoken. The key to release this power is your tongue. When you speak; when you confess what God says about you, God brings it to pass.
The earth we live in was created by God. He gave it to man and man through disobedience turned it over to Satan. But Jesus came; He faced Satan, conquered him, took away from Him what he stole from Adam and gave it back to us. Jesus knocked daily light out of the devil and gave us the right to that victory. Those who believe in Jesus can say things according to the Word of God and see what they say come to pass. They can confess with their mouths and a creative force will be released on their behalf.
When we confess the Word; or we might as well say when we confess what the Word of God promises; we release faith to believe that what we confessed is ours in the Name of Jesus. We release faith to be patient to wait for the manifestation. It does not matter how long it takes; we know it is ours. This faith causes our minds to fall in line with what the Word of God says and when this happens, time and space are no longer hinderances. Heart peace bridges the river of space, joy rushes across the waiting period to grab the promise and make it ours today. Oh the joy of receiving it before it is manifested!
This is faith spoken into reality through confession of the Word of God
- When you read the Word of God you deposit the Word into your heart
- When you study the Word of God you release understanding and wisdom to act upon the Word
- When you meditate on the Word of God you assimilate it into your thinking and transform your life by the renewing of your mind
- When you pray according to the Word of God you express your dependency on God
- When you confess the Word you release a creative force to manifest the promise
- When all these happen, YOU FLY.
